Flow

 Flow is the union of action and awareness — a state of total absorption. Through  balanced sequences, progressions, and moving with the breath — we emerge into this state of flow. The transitions between postures become a rhythmic transformation as we carry the qualities of one posture into the next. Subtle channels open, vital life force flows freely, and the mind is completely absorbed in the flow.

Flow is a breath-based style of yoga that emphasizes smooth transitions and dynamic sequences. Classes begin with a brief centering, inviting awareness into the breath and physical sensations. We allow the mind to settle into the gentle rhythm of breathing, softening our gaze, or closing the eyes and fully resting in the present moment. From there, we move into slow, breath-directed warm-ups, progressing into more dynamic sequences such as sun salutations, standing postures, core work, and backbends.

We then bring this flow to the floor for hip-opening, forward folds, twists, and inversions. We move and stretch the spine in all directions, deepen and lengthen the breath, and tone the fascia for more steadiness and ease in our movement. Each class closes with a deeply relaxing, guided shavasana. Practitioners are encouraged to move at their own pace, resting and modifying as needed.

As we move and breathe together, we create shared rhythms and a sense of communal support. In this experience, a subtle resonance arises, supporting our postures, transitions, breath, and embodiment. We are witnessing each other engaged in our own meaningful dialogues with our bodies, restoring continuity, rebuilding trust, and cultivating self-regulation.
